Ackerman FFA competes at Central District Contest

Saturday March 2, 2013, Ackerman FFA Chapter members attended
District competition in Carthage at Leake Central High School. In
order to attend District, a student must win first or second place at
Federation.
Samantha Reed, Ackerman FFA senior division Creed Speaker, won second
place at Federation and was able to attend District where she placed
fifth.
Tyler McClain, Philip Evans, Alex Ivy, and Michael James won first
place in Tool Identification at Federation where Philip Evans was
named high scoring individual and the team placed second at District.
Tyler McClain was named high scoring individual at District contest.
Philip Evans won second place at Federation and first place in 9th
Grade Creed Speaking at District contest.
Johnny Douglas won second place at Federation and third place at
District in Prepared Public Speaking.
Andy Robison won second place in Extemporaneous Speaking at both
Federation and District contests.
Andy Robison, Abby Wood, Kayleigh Nickels, John South, Hayley Thomas,
Samantha Makamson, and Alyssa Pritchett won second place in Opening
and Closing at Federation and first place at District.
Students that placed first or second will move on to state
competition in June at State FFA Convention. Congratulations to all
students who competed!
