The Weir Lions saw their baseball season come to an end on Tuesday
when they dropped an 11-3 decision to homestanding West Lowndes.

Weir went into the game needing to beat the Panthers by at least
three runs to finish third in the district and advance to the MHSAA
Class 1A State Playoffs. Nanih Waiya won the district, while French
Camp finished second.

Bailey Callahan and Mo Hardin had two hits each for the Lions, while
T.Y. Martin had a run-scoring single.

“We were just a little uptight in the game,” said Weir head coach
Andy Young.

Weir had six seniors this season. They are: Martin, Callahan, Tyler
Henson, Laquantes McKinney, Darius Brown and Willis Cork.
