The Ackerman AEST Plant Science class is gearing up for their annual
plant sale. Students have planted, fertilized, and watered a variety
of bedding plants and vegetables in the local AEST greenhouse in
hopes of making a profit to benefit a wide variety of opportunities
in the AEST classroom and the Ackerman FFA Chapter. The plant sale
will be held on the following days and times on a first come, first
serve basis while supplies last.
Tuesday, April 2 from 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
Wednesday, April 3 from 8 a.m.-4 p.m.
Thursday, April 4 from 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
Saturday, April 6 from 8 a.m.- noon
The plant sale allows students to take the skills learned in the
classroom throughout the year and apply them in a hands on real world
setting. Students are able to experiment with growing techniques,
learn marketing skills, and have the opportunity to operate a small
scale business. “Working in the greenhouse has been a wonderful
learning experience and I have had a great time growing the plants. I
am so glad I made the decision to take this class,” says Johnny Douglas.
