Musical March 27
M&M’s will present their Easter musical, Wednesday, March 27 at 6 pm.

NARFE to Meet
March 28
The National Active & Retired Federal Employees Association will meet
Thursday, March 28 at the Hilton Garden Inn on Highway 12 East in
Starkville. Guest speaker will be Dr. Mark Keenum. Doors open at 11
a.m.
Herbicide Use for Weed Control

March 28
Thursday, March 28 from 12:00-1:00pm at Choctaw County Extension
Office. Crabgrass, dallisgrass and other weeds are fighting for space
in your yard. Dr. John Byrd will present the program by interactive
video. Everyone is invited to attend this free program. Feel free to
bring your lunch.

Passion Walk
March 29
The 7th Annual PASSION WALK will be held on Good Friday, March 29 at
noon at the walking track in Ackerman. Come and pray the story of the
passion of Jesus who died for us…and then attend our Easter sunrise
service at 7 am, Church of God, Easter Sunday March 31, to hear how
God raised Jesus from the dead! This year leading our prayer at each
lantern are: Bethlehem Baptist, Calvin & Friends, Ackerman Baptist,
St Lukes FGB, Ackerman Methodist, Concord Baptist, Brothers in
Christ, Enon Pres, Church of God and the Catholic community. We will
conclude our walk around 1pm…don’t miss this opportunity to pray
and to continue to thank our awesome God for the gifts of LOVE.

Spring Sale
March 30
Come join us for our Spring Sale in the Fellowship Hall of the
Mathiston United Methodist Church in Mathiston on Hwy 15. Delicious
home baked goodies and white elephant items will be featured. The
sale is set for Saturday, March 30,8 am–noon. This event is
sponsored by the United Methodist Women.

Gospel Singing
March 30
Rev. Larry Mays of Red Hill MB Church, Eupora, will be having a
gospel singing on March 30 at 5 pm, but the doors will open at 4 pm.
The groups will be: The Cork’s Sisters, The Cork Singers, True
Magnifiers, MVP Choir, The Gospel Travelers. Admission is free. For

Ackerman Church of God to host Easter Community Sunrise service

March 31
Ackerman Church of God will host the Easter Community Sunrise service
this year on Sunday morning, March 31 at 7 a.m. The Ackerman Church
of God choir will lead Praise and Worship under the direction of
Donna McKay. Bro. Danny Irving, pastor of Ackerman Baptist Church
will bring the Easter message. Immediately following the service Enon
Cumberland Presbyterian will host a pancake breakfast at the Enon
C.P. Lighthouse. ACOG Pastor Greg Chamblee and congregation invite
you to come and worship that Jesus Christ is Risen! The church is

5th Sunday Night Singing
March 31
Providence Baptist Church will have their 5th Sunday Night singing on
March 31 at 6 p.m. Refreshments will be served afterwards.

Singing Convention
March 31
The Northern Choctaw Singing Convention will have its 5th Sunday
singing on Easter Sunday, March 31, beginning at 10:30 a.m. at Mt.
Hermon United Methodist Church, Pine Street, Ackerman, MS.
You are invited to join us in a day of singing praises. *Lunch will
be served*

Easter Services At Salem Independent Methodist Church
March 31
Salem Independent Methodist Church will be the host church this year
for our community Easter services with Clear Springs Baptist, Old
Lebanon Presbyterian and Providence Baptist Churches. Our early
Easter service, March 31, will begin at 8 a.m. Breakfast will be
served for everyone at 9 a.m. Our morning worship service will begin
at 10:30 a.m. Bro Jim Reed, our pastor, will be delivering our
messages for both services. There will be no evening services.

Ladies Conference
April 5
Providence Baptist Church will have their 7th Annual Ladies
Conference on Friday, April 5 at 6 p.m. The speaker will be Mara
Fields of Pontotoc with praise and worship music by Nicole Oswalt and
Shelia Pearson. Come join us for a night of music, worship and fun.
Refreshments and door prizes will immediately follow the service.
Nursery will be provided.

Flea Market
April 6
A Choctaw County Flea Market will be held April 6 in Ackerman. There
is no vendor fee. Applications are available at the Choctaw County
Extension Office and Broken Wings Ministry in Ackerman. For

Reform Baseball Park Can Collection
April 6
Bring your cans (not crushed) to the Reform Ball Park from 9 a.m.-11
a.m. to help raise funds to create a walking track around the park.

Women’s
Conference
April 6-7
Ackerman Church of God will host a Women’s Conference April 6-7 with
guest speaker Dorlene Harris and Teressa Smith Hooper will lead
Praise and Worship. The conference is entitled “Daughters of the
King”. Registration will be from 5-6pm on Saturday; Worship service
beings at 6pm and Sunday Worship service will begin at 10:45am.
Registration forms are available at Pap’s, Cuttin’ Up, Chamber of
Commerce office or for more information call 662-418-3096. Admission
is $15 before March 15th and at the door $20. The church is located

Little Mr. or Miss Pageant
Deadline April 12
The Ladies of the Rho Nu Zeta chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority,
Incorporated will be hosting their 1st Little Mr. or Miss Zeta
Royalty Pageant on April 20 for males and females ages 2-16. Anyone

Chamber of
Commerce 25th
Celebration April 13
The Chamber of Commerce along with the Economic Development
Foundation will celebrate their 25th anniversary with a potluck on
Saturday, April 13 at 6 p.m. at the Community Center. The Chamber of
Commerce will provide the entrée and drinks. Bring your family and
favorite dish to celebrate 25 years of success. Please RSVP if you

NAACP meeting
April 15
The NAACP of Choctaw County will meet April 15 at 6 p.m. at Mt.
Hermon Church in Ackerman. New members are welcome. The NAACP meets
the third Monday of every month.

Kids Fishing Rodeo at Choctaw Lake
April 20
All children ages 15 and under are invited to fish on Saturday, April
20 at Choctaw Lake. Registration will begin at 8 a.m. at the
pavilion in the campground area. A parent/guardian must attend with
each child to sign a release waiver. Fishing will be from 9 – 11
a.m. with Farm Bureau providing lunch for the kids afterwards.
Volunteers are needed for the day of the event. Call the Choctaw
County Chamber of Commerce to volunteer or for more information at

Vendor Space Available for French Camp
Pioneer Day
Applications are now being taken for vendor space for French Camp
Pioneer Day on May 11. Spaces open to arts & crafts vendors selling
items including, antiques, jewelry, woodcrafts, needle arts, leather
crafts, etc. Historic artisans and arts & crafts demonstrators are
