AES Pre-k registration March 18-22
Pre-k registration for AES will be Mar. 18th – 22nd. The children
will register for a time to have a screening done at the school
between Mar. 25th and April 5th. Students may register during the
screening time period as well.
For registration, students will need birth certificate, shot record,
social security card, and 3 proofs of residency. You may contact the

The Amazing World of Azaleas March 21
Thursday, March 21 from 12:00-1:00pm at Choctaw County Extension
Office. Dr. Wayne Porter will discuss proper selection and care of
azaleas. Program conducted by interactive video. Everyone is invited

Festival March 22
On March 22, MSU Libraries will sponsor Templeton Ragtime Jazz
Festival. It will begin at 9 a.m. and end 10 p.m. at the Mitchell
Memorial Library, Templeton Museum. Cost of admission is $50. You

Providence Family Life Center March 24
Providence Baptist Church invites you to the dedication of the
Providence Family Life Center on March 24 at 3 p.m. Come join us and
celebrate with us this special event in the Lord. Refreshments will
Ackerman United Methodist Church is having a BBQ Lunch on Sunday,
March 24 from noon-2 p.m. in the fellowship hall. Lunch consists of:
Pulled pork, baked beans, cole slaw, French bread and homemade

The annual Gordon Family Reunion will be held at the Panhandle
Community Center in Choctaw County on Sunday, March 24 with lunch
being served at noon followed by a cakewalk. You are also welcome to
attend the worship services at Mt. Zion Presbyterian Church at 11
am. All descendents of William and Eliza Jane Farrar Gordon are
urged to attend and friends and neighbors of the family are welcome.
Computer skills class
March 25-April 29
Holmes Community College Workforce Development will have a six week
basic computer skills class from March 25-April 29 on Monday nights
from 5 p.m.-7 p.m. at Wood Institute in Mathiston. Cost $10 per
person and include a USB drive. Learn now to use email, the internet

Weir Baptist Church Easter Musical
M&M’s will present their Easter musical, Wednesday, March 27 at 6 pm.

Herbicide Use for Weed Control
Thursday, March 28 from 12:00-1:00pm at Choctaw County Extension
Office. Crabgrass, dallisgrass and other weeds are fighting for space
in your yard. Dr. John Byrd will present the program by interactive
video. Everyone is invited to attend this free program. Feel free to

The 7th Annual PASSION WALK will be held on Good Friday, March 29 at
noon at the walking track in Ackerman.Come and pray the story of the
passion of Jesus who died for us…and then attend our Easter sunrise
service at 7 am, Church of God, Easter Sunday March 31, to hear how
God raised Jesus from the dead! This year leading our prayer at each
lantern are: Bethlehem Baptist, Calvin & Friends, Ackerman Baptist,
St Lukes FGB, Ackerman Methodist, Concord Baptist, Brothers in
Christ, Enon Pres, Church of God and the Catholic community. We will
conclude our walk around 1pm…don’t miss this opportunity to pray
and to continue to thank our awesome God for the gifts of LOVE.

gospel singing on March 30 at 5 pm, but the doors will open at 4 pm.

Ackerman Church of God to host Easter Community Sunrise service
Ackerman Church of God will host the Easter Community Sunrise service
this year on Sunday morning, March 31 at 7 a.m. The Ackerman Church
of God choir will lead Praise and Worship under the direction of
Donna McKay. Bro. Danny Irving, pastor of Ackerman Baptist Church
will bring the Easter message. Immediately following the service Enon
Cumberland Presbyterian will host a pancake breakfast at the Enon
C.P. Lighthouse. ACOG Pastor Greg Chamblee and congregation invite
you to come and worship that Jesus Christ is Risen! The church is

Providence Baptist Church will have their 7th Annual Ladies
Conference on Friday, April 5 at 6 p.m. The speaker will be Mara
Fields of Pontotoc with praise and worship music by Nicole Oswalt and
Shelia Pearson. Come join us for a night of music, worship and fun.

A Choctaw County Flea Market will be held April 6 in Ackerman. There
is no vendor fee. Applications are available at the Choctaw County

Women’s Conference April 6-7
Ackerman Church of God will host a Women’s Conference April 6-7 with
guest speaker Dorlene Harris and Teressa Smith Hooper will lead
Praise and Worship. The conference is entitled “Daughters of the
King”. Registration will be from 5-6pm on Saturday; Worship service
beings at 6pm and Sunday Worship service will begin at 10:45am.

Chamber of Commerce 25th Celebration
The Chamber of Commerce along with the Economic Development
Foundation will celebrate their 25th anniversary with a potluck on
Saturday, April 13 at 6 p.m. at the Community Center. The Chamber of
Commerce will provide the entrée and drinks. Bring your family and

The NAACP of Choctaw County will meet April 15 at 6 p.m. at Mt.
Hermon Church in Ackerman. New members are welcome. The NAACP meets
the third Monday of every month. .
Kids Fishing Rodeo at Choctaw Lake
All children ages 15 and under are invited to fish on Saturday, April
20 at Choctaw Lake. Registration will begin at 8 a.m. at the
pavilion in the campground area. A parent/guardian must attend with
each child to sign a release waiver. Fishing will be from 9 – 11
a.m. with Farm Bureau providing lunch for the kids afterwards.
