Aldermen handle monthly business

The Ackerman Board of Aldermen held their monthly meeting on March 5.
The board briefly discussed the “dog issue” of having stray dogs and
others unleashed and loose throughout the town. They approved to
table the issue at this time.

The board also approved the following:
-To increase the fuel mileage rate from .555 to .565
-Annual JuneFest sponsorship of $1,000
-To adopt policy and procedures of the Town of Ackerman for Water and
Waste Water Systems.
-Travel for Mike Brasher, public works director, to Annual Mgt. and
Tech. Conference in Jackson on March 25-28.
-To purchase a sponsorship ad for $250 in a resource book sponsored
by Turning the Tide on Poverty.

The next regularly scheduled Board of Aldermen meeting will be
Tuesday, April 2 at 6 p.m. in the boardroom at Town Hall.
