Distinguished Young Women Program to be held March 16

By Press Reports

Eight young ladies from Choctaw County will be competing for college
scholarships on March 16th at 6:30 at the Ty Cobb Complex on the Campus of
Ackerman High School.

This year’s program theme will be “Under the Sea.” The Twentieth Century
Club of Ackerman sponsors the program each year, and members are hard at
work to ensure that this year’s program is amazing.

This year, there are four participants that attend Ackerman High, two
participants from Weir, and two participants from French Camp. Participants
are: Alyssa Pritchett, Crystal Ashford, Chelsea McDaniel, Marilyn Ramirez,
Haley Lucas, Emily Robison, Alison Cooper (last year’s winner), Lauren
Bouchillon, and Kassie Oswalt.

Ginny Lucas, Program Chairman, is excited to announce that a $500
Self-Expression Award will be added to the awards given this year. The
award is being sponsored by H & O Trucking-Michael & Kimberly Holmes.

The Jewel Shoppe in Louisville is also providing charm bracelets to the
alternates and winner.

Each year gets better and better; this year will be the same. If you are
interested in helping fund a scholarship for the DYW program, please
contact Ginny Lucas at 547-6066.
