Chicken Plate Lunch/Dinner Fundraiser
Feb. 15
The Weir Baseball Team is sponsoring a Chicken Plate Lunch/Dinner fundraiser on Feb. 15 from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Plates are $6 which includes cole slaw, baked beans, rolls and dessert. 4-H Shooting Sports Interest Meeting
Feb. 18
Are you interested in participating in 4-H shooting sports practices in air rifle and/ or shotgun? Then this meeting is for you! Choctaw County 4-H will be holding a Shooting Sports interest meeting on February 18 at 6 pm at the Choctaw County Extension office. This meeting is strongly encouraged for all 4-H members (ages 8-18) intending to participate in any of the county or state 4-H shooting sports practices or shoots this year. 4-H Horse Club Interest Meeting
Feb. 18
Choctaw County 4-H is in the process of adding a new special interest 4-H Horse Club. All youth, aged 8-18, are welcome to attend this meeting. Members do not have to own a horse to be part of this club; just have an interest in horses. This meeting will be held Monday, February 18 at 6 pm, at the Choctaw County Extension office. Money Management: Credit
Feb. 18
Do you know how to get your credit report? Have you ever wondered what your credit score number means? If you would like to learn more about credit, come to our monthly money management class Monday, February 18 at 10:30 am at Broken Wings. Mary Linda Moore, Extension Family Resource Management Agent, will conduct the class. Everyone is invited to attend. Meetings are held the third Monday of each month. 21st Annual Sweetheart Pageant registration

Feb. 19
The 21st Annual Sweetheart Pageant practice and registration will be held February 19 from 4 p.m.-6 p.m. at Weir Attendance Center. Registration forms may be picked up at Leonard’s 3-Way, French Camp Elementary, WAC, Sunflower, “I Can” Child Care Learning Center, Main Street Fabric, Ackerman Elementary, Ackerman High School and Prewitt Photography. The Sweetheart Pageant will be held Saturday, March 2 at WAC.

4-H Forestry interest meeting

Youth ages 10-18 interested in learning about forestry and tree identification are invited to a meeting Wednesday, February 20 at 3:30pm at the Choctaw County Extension Office. Love Harvest Program
Feb. 23
True Restoration Christian Church, of Sturgis, is sponsoring a Love Harvest Program on February 23 at 3 p.m. at the Choctaw County Community Center. The speaker for this event will be Rev. Burkey Thompson, pastor of Macedonia M.B.C., of Sallis. There will be choirs and guest soloists on this program. Dinner will be served at a donation of $10.50 per plate. Dinner will consist of steak or chicken, baked potato, green beans, salad, dessert and drink. Carry plates will be available at 2 p.m. For more information contact Rena McNeal at 662-387-7102.

First Responders Dinner
March 1
The Choctaw County Chamber of Commerce will host the First Responders Dinner on Friday, March 1 at the Choctaw County Community Center. Robert Latham Jr., Director of the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency, will be the featured speaker with entertainment by Southern Flair Bluegrass Gospel band. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. with dinner beginning at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 for Chamber of Commerce members and $15 for Friends of the Chamber.
