Friday, February 8 is the deadline to register as volunteers for the “Take Pride in America Day” at Choctaw Lake. This event is planned for volunteers to help improve recreation and protect natural resources at the Choctaw Lake Recreation Area on the Tombigbee National Forest.

A few of the planned projects include installing a Frisbee golf course, installing a tree identification trail and conducting trail maintenance.

Registered volunteers will be served lunch and receive a commemorative t-shirt. All volunteers are asked to register by February 8.

Most safety equipment will be provided, but volunteers may bring a pair of heavy duty gloves and any extra water or snacks for themselves or their team.
