Martin Luther King, Jr.’s dream has not been forgotten in Choctaw County. The Choctaw County NAACP Branch #5631 held the Fifth Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Observance Prayer Visual on January 21. Approximately 40 people gathered in front of the Choctaw County Courthouse to remember Dr. King, his dream and inspire others to keep the dream alive.
The prayer service consisted of songs, prayers, comments and the reading of Dr. King’s “I Have A Dream” speech.
Everyone seemed to agree that a lot of progress has been made since the Civil Rights Movement and the “I Have A Dream” speech and that there is still a lot of progress to be made.
