The Miller-Coleman-Satterfield Foundation, Inc. hosted a “Family Fun Festival” to celebrate the unity of the family and emphasize the importance of remembering our heritage. Families traveled from Jackson, Holly Springs, McCool, West Point, Southhaven, Ethel, Kosciusko, Weir and French Camp for a day of food, fun and fellowship. Out of state guests included Norma Jean Love, Patricia Spates and Shirley Patrick of Cleveland, Ohio. Special recognition and tokens of love were presented to Gertha Miller, Amanda Miller, Ivora Bell Bruce, Georgia Mae Miller, Annie Louise Miller and Reverend C. D. Miller.
Reverend C. D. Miller of Holly Springs shared inspiring words and donated nine of his many sermons to the MCS Foundation. He served as a United Methodist Pastor for 52 years, before retiring in 1999 from Haven Memorial United Methodist Church in Winona. The sermons will be placed in the Lillian Cunningham Coleman Memorial Library at the MCS Community Complex in French Camp.
The Miller-Coleman-Satterfield Foundation, Inc. extends special thanks to the community for their support and following businesses for their sponsorship – Prairie Farms (Luvel Dairy Products), Dotson Funeral Home, Central Snacks (Carthage) and Walmart # 215 (Winona).
