Relay for Life Organizational Meeting Jan. 9 An organizational meeting will be held Wednesday, January 9 at 10 a.m. in the J.P. Coleman Building (across from the courthouse). Author to visit Yarn Spinners club Jan. 15 Dr. Michael Kardos, author from Mississippi State University, will visit the Yarn Spinners Book Club on January 15 at 9 a.m. at the MSU Extension-Choctaw County office in Ackerman.

Master Gardner training classes planned Registration deadline Jan. 25 Master Gardener Certification training classes will begin in February. Classes will be held every Tuesday and Thursday from 1– 5 pm February 12 through March 19. The final exam is take home, open book and participants may work on it by themselves or together. Cost is $85 which includes training notebook and materials, one year membership in the Mississippi Master Gardener Association and refreshments. The Master Gardener program is an Extension public service program. Registration fee and application are due at the Choctaw County Extension Office by January 25, 2013.
