Chamber Spooktacular event a town success

By Choctaw County Chamber of Commerce

The Choctaw County Chamber of Commerce sponsored Trunk-or-Treat and Spooktacular Parade was a huge success for the community with hundreds of children attending. The event provided an evening of family fun for all ages.

The Pioneer Community Hospital of Choctaw sold hamburger dinners to the community with all proceeds going to the Pink Ribbon Fund. The Master Gardener’s Club hosted their 3rd Annual Scarecrow Contest where everyone could cast a vote for their favorite scarecrow.

There were eighteen participants in the Trunk-or-Treat event. The Chamber of Commerce awarded prizes for the best decorated trunks to a Chamber of Commerce member and to a community organization. Ackerman Discount Drug was the Chamber of Commerce business winner with their beach themed trunk and the Ackerman Twentieth Century Club was the community winner with their “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown” themed trunk.

The Chamber of Commerce would like to thank the following businesses and community organizations for making Trunk-or-Treat a success: Ackerman Discount Drug, Choctaw Animal Clinic, Mitchell Dental Clinic, ServPro of Louisville, Winona and Forest, Pioneer Community Hospital of Choctaw, M&F Bank, Forget-Me-Not Florist, Guns and Roses Pawn Shop, Tammie Bowman, Tanya Molina, Ackerman Church of God Ladies Ministries, Ackerman Baptist Church Youth Group and Missions Team, Ackerman High School Student Government Association, Ackerman High School JROTC, Ackerman Twentieth Century Club, MedStat- EMS (Ambulance) and Ackerman Fire Department.
