Oct. 27 The “In His Hands Mission” 5k Run/Walk will be held October 27 at 8 a.m. in downtown Ackerman. The Ackerman Church of God Youth are sponsoring the 5k Run/Walk to raise funds for a mission trip to North Little Rock, Ark. All ages are encouraged to participate. $20 per person. Choctaw County Animal Shelter Fundraising Event Oct. 27 Paws to Support the Choctaw County Animal Shelter Fundraising Event will be held Saturday, October 27 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. at Enon CP Church’s Lighthouse Center. The church is located at 9000 Hwy. 12 East, Ackerman. Vendors will be there selling jewelry, purses, cookware, Scentsy candles, Tupperware, BeautiControl products and much more! Nov. 3 French Camp Elementary will have a Fall Festival on November 3 from 4 p.m.-7 p.m. The festival will feature a cake walk for 50 cents per walk, inflatables-two jumpers, slide, dragon obstacle course for $5 unlimited jumping and a Chili Supper which includes chili, crackers, fritos, drink, and dessert for $5. Hamburger Dinners for Breast Cancer Awareness Oct. 30 The staff of Pioneer Community Hospital of Choctaw and Choctaw Nursing Center will be selling hamburger dinners during the Trunk or Treat event in downtown Ackerman on October 30. Sack dinners will be available for $5 each and will include a hamburger, chips, soft drink and dessert. All proceeds from the sale will benefit The Pink Ribbon Fund.
Bluegrass Gospel Concert Oct. 28 Fentress Baptist Church will be hosting a Bluegrass Gospel Concert on Sunday, October 28 at 6 p.m. featuring Alan Sibley & The Magnolia Ramblers. David Davis of Cullman, AL will also be performing as a special guest. Davis is a renowned Bluegrass artist having performed extensively across The United States and Canada as lead singer and mandolin player for The Warrior River Boys.
