The Choctaw County Economic Development Foundation cordially invites you to a reception on Thursday, October 11 to greet Lara Bowman, the new Chamber of Commerce Executive Director. The reception will be held from 4 p.m.-7 p.m. at the J.P.
Coleman Building, located at 55 East Quinn in Ackerman.
As Executive Director of the Chamber of Commerce, Bowman will be responsible in assisting the local business community with their business related needs and exploring opportunities for growth and improvement. She will do this while planning community development events to encourage interaction between local businesses and Choctaw countians. Bowman will also promote the County to local citizens, potential business and industry leaders and at the regional, state and national level.
She is working with Chamber of Commerce Board to plan the 25th annual Chamber of Commerce Reception, Spooktacular Parade/Trunk-or- Treat and Christmas Open House.
“I look forward to getting out and meeting with business owners and the community through the upcoming events being hosted by the Chamber,” said Bowman.
The Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors consists of five members who were elected to serve in March. The President of the Board is Teresa Ryan. The following members are Debbie Bunkleman, Vaughn Hill, Todd Marion and Amanda McBride.
Bowman wants to encourage business and community members to participate in the three upcoming events the Chamber has planned for the next month.
“I really feel like the Chamber of Commerce can reach out to all Choctaw countians through these community development events,” stated Bowman. “Choctaw County has a rich history, which will be reflected and celebrated at the 25th Annual Chamber of Commerce Reception. The Trunk or Treat will be a great family event. The kids can decorate the trunk or bed of their family vehicle and give out candy or Trunk- or-Treat in downtown Ackerman. The Christmas Open House will be a great mother/daughter or ladies night out for friends.”
“I have really appreciated the many individuals and business owners who have already made feel welcome in Choctaw County and I hope everyone can stop by on Thursday night,” stated Bowman when asked how her first week has been as Executive Director.
Please stop by to introduce yourself and welcome Lara to Choctaw County. Refreshments will be provided. If you any questions or would like more details please contact the Chamber of Commerce at 662-285-3778.
