The Ackerman FFA Chapter Parliamentary Procedure team has the opportunity to represent Mississippi in Indianapolis, IN on October 23-27, 2012 by attending the 85th annual National FFA Convention and competing in the national Parliamentary Procedure competition.
The Parliamentary Procedure Career Development Event is a very competitive event where students learn the proper way to conduct a business meeting using Robert’s Rules of Order. During competition members conduct a ten minute business meeting demonstrating their knowledge of the proper use of Robert’s Rules of Order. After the demonstration, team members will take a test on Parliamentary Procedure; they will also complete research questions and a problem solving group activity. Through this Career Development Event, students gain lifelong knowledge and skills that will be very beneficial to their future endeavors.
Members of the Ackerman FFA Parliamentary Procedure team are currently seeking donations from local businesses to help fund their trip to Indiana. Your donation will pay for six students’ bus tickets, convention registration fees, and hotel rooms. We greatly appreciate your consideration of a donation for this opportunity for our members.
If you are interested in donating for this cause please contact Kristy Camp, Ackerman FFA Advisor at 601-416-8390 or Andy Robison, Chapter President at 662-705-1737.
