The faculty and staff of French Camp Elementary would like to welcome you to the 2012-2013 school year. We are very excited to begin this year and look forward to working with both you and your children.
The school will be open each day beginning July 25th from 8:00-2:00 to allow parents the opportunity to come register their children. Please keep in mind that all students must have updated proofs of residence on file to be legally enrolled in school.
Also, the new Choctaw County registration packets can be printed from the county website or if needed, picked up from the school office.
French Camp Elementary will conduct four Open Houses throughout this upcoming school year. The first Open House will be held on August 7th from 4:00-6:00 for parents and children to meet their teacher and bring in class supplies. The remaining three Open Houses will be held on September 12th, November 15th, and February 13th from 4:00-6:00.
The staff at French Camp Elementary has been through a few changes throughout the summer months. Listed below are the changes that have taken place:
• Mrs. Kylie Stanford has been transferred as an additional kindergarten teacher, due to class size. • Mrs. Courtney Kirkman has been employed as a fourth grade departmentalized teacher. • Mrs. Lisa Pruitt has been reassigned to a fourth grade departmentalized position. • Mrs. Shellie Anderson has been transferred as a lower elementary resource teacher. • Mrs. Jessica Utley has been reassigned as the 7th grade social studies teacher, in addition to her previous position as gifted teacher. • Mrs. Tami McKnight has been reassigned to the TST position in order to provide struggling students with one-on-one additional instruction and support. • Mrs. Hannah Cross has been employed as the 5th-8th grade choral teacher.
One of the biggest changes for this upcoming school year is the time that school will begin each day for French Camp Elementary. In order to not be counted tardy, all students must be in their assigned classrooms by 7:40 each morning. Any student that enters the school after this time must come by the office, sign-in, and receive a pass to get into class.
Once again, the faculty and staff at French Camp Elementary look forward to working with you and your children throughout this school year. We know that through the unity of home and school, your children will reach their fullest potential and be prepared for a better tomorrow. As always, thank you for entrusting your children to us each and every day. Sincerely, Mr. Stacey Johnson Principal, FCE
