By Press Reports

Ten year old Choctaw County girl, Claudia Marie Cade, took home one of the most coveted crowns at the Miss Heart of the USA Mississippi Stage Pageant on July 7, 2012 in D’Iberville, MS along with $1,000. She was crowned the first Miss Heart of the USA Mississippi Community Queen. Claudia earned this title for making the most of her reign as a MHOUSA Preliminary Queen.

Her journey as a MOHUSA Queen began in August 2011 where she competed at a Tupelo food drive pageant. She was crowned the Queen of Hearts by collecting the most canned food items for Stone Soup Ministry of Tupelo. With this title, she advanced to the State competition in July.

For the past eleven months, Claudia has relentlessly serviced her community and surrounding counties by organizing food drives at local schools and grocery stores, volunteering, and representing her title to the fullest.

Claudia competed in several divisions of the state pageant to include: Self Introduction (she wrote and recited a short speech explaining how she serviced her community), Heart Wear (a casual wear competition), Photogenic, Queen of Hearts (collecting the most canned food for the year), Community Queen (servicing her community), and formal beauty wear.

The top three contestants for the state were recognized on the Community Queen Court and Queen of Hearts Court. Claudia took a seat on each of these courts. She was awarded the Community Queen with a $1,000 cash prize for providing the most community service in the state. Even though she was a top contender for the Queen of Hearts another contestant took the title by surpassing Claudia’s canned food donations by a mere 125 items.

Claudia collected food until the day before she left for the competition. Her last load was for 142 items to Broken Wings Ministry in Ackerman. Despite not earning the Queen of Hearts title, she will not stop her mission to collect canned goods for local food banks. She collected a total of 8,162 cans of food for the state level competition. Claudia pledged to purchase and donate at least 200 items to Broken Wings Ministry with her winnings from the pageant. She is the true definition of beautiful. She wants show the world that she is a beautiful person form the inside out by serving those less fortunate.

Claudia will now advance to compete as the Mississippi Community Queen in the upcoming MHOUSA National Pageant at Orlando, FL in November 2012. Her goal is to collect and donate at least 7,000 additional canned food items before the national pageant as well as continue to be model citizen and inspiration to other children to make a difference in their community. She will be competing for an additional $5,000 at nationals.
