Mr. Robert Evans Weed, Sr. Saturday, July 14, 2012 Funeral services for Mr. Robert Evans Weed, Sr., 85, were held at 11 a.m., July 17, 2012 at Coleman Funeral Home in a Ackerman. Rev. Danny Irvin officiated. Burial followed in Greenwood Cemetery in West Point.

A resident of Ackerman, Mr. Weed was a retired sergeant in the U.S. Army. He was also a member of Ackerman Baptist Church. Mr. Weed died Saturday, July 14, 2012 at his residence in Ackerman.

He is survived by his sons James V. Weed of Marrero, La., William H. Weed of Mansfield, OH, Robert E. Weed, Jr. of Ackerman, Miss., daughter Marjorie Fletcher of Mathiston, Miss., eight grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Mr. Donald Lamar Ray July 2, 2012 Funeral services for Mr. Donald Lamar Ray, 60, were held at Weir United Methodist Church in Weir on Thursday, July 12, 2012 at 2 p.m. Rev. Jack Smith officiated. Burial at Weir Cemetery.

Mr. Ray was a retired hospital administrator. Mr. Ray was a member of Columbus First United Methodist Church. Mr. Ray died on Monday, July 2, 2012 at his residence in Columbus.

Survivors include mother, Virginia Woodward Ray of Sandy, UT; son, Patrick L. Ray of Grenada; daughter, Katy Murphy of Chelsea, AL; sister, Betty Ray-Wycoff of Sandy, UT; 2 grandchildren.

Family suggests memorials to Weir United Methodist Church and/or The Salvation Army.

Donald Lemar Ray

Donald Lemar Ray, 60, passed away July 2, 2012 at his residence in Columbus, MS. Visitation was held Thursday, July 12, 2012 from 1:00 p.m. until service time at Weir United Methodist Church. Funeral service was Thursday, July 12, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Jack Smith officiating. Interment was at Weir Cemetery in Weir, MS.

Mr. Ray was born September 23, 1951 in Kosciusko, MS. He completed the graduate program in Hospital Administration at Mississippi College. He also earned a Bachelors degree in Business Administration from Mississippi State University where he was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity. He retired as the Hospital Administrator from Grenada Lake Medical Center in 1998. He attended Columbus First United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his father, Quarles Lemar Ray.

Survivors include his mother, Virginia Woodward Ray, Sandy, Utah; son, Patrick L. Ray, Grenada, MS; daughter, Katy Murphy and husband Kyle, Chelsea, AL; sister, Betty Ray-Wycoff, Sandy, Utah; and two grandchildren, Anna Kyle Murphy and Kade Murphy.

Jeffrey Milton Crowder French Camp

Funeral services for Jeffrey Milton Crowder of French Camp was at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 13, at Bethsaida Baptist Church near French Camp, with burial following in Bethsaida Cemetery. Rev. Brad Herod, Rev. Alex Lawson, and Rev. Doug Atkinson officiated the services.

Visitation was Thursday, July 12, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m., at Oliver Funeral Home in Winona.

Mr. Crowder died of heart failure at his residence on Tuesday, July 10. He was 41 years old.

Mr. Crowder was a 1989 graduate of French Camp Academy. He graduated from the Mississippi State University School of Forestry with a B.S. in 1993. He was an employee of the Mississippi State Forestry Commission, serving as Montgomery County Forester. Mr. Crowder was a member of Bethsaida Baptist Church.

Survivors include his daughter, Haley Crowder of French Camp; son, Darren Crowder of French Camp; parents, Jerry and Jeanine Gibson Crowder of French Camp; sister, Jennifer Box of French Camp; brother, Jason Crowder of French Camp; maternal grandparents, Cloyce and Corrine Gibson of Poplar Creek; and paternal grandfather, Marvis Crowder of French Camp.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Earline Henderson Crowder.
