Mr. Herbert Alexander Blanton Friday, June 15, 2012 Funeral services for Mr. Herbert Alexander Blanton, 90, were held at 2 p.m., June 17, 2012 at Enon Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Ackerman. Rev. Jerry Lawson officiated. Burial followed in Enon Cemetery in Ackerman.
A native of Choctaw County, Mr. Blanton was a retired farmer and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a member of Old Lebanon Presbyterian Church near Ackerman.
Mr. Blanton died Friday, June 15, 2012 at VA Medical Center in Jackson.
Survivors include his wife Hilda Vanlandingham Blanton of Byram, sons Berry Thomas Blanton (Teresa) of Pearl, Leonard Hugh Blanton (Vera) of Florence, Robert Allen Blanton of Starkville, daughter Lillian Blanton Perry (Johnnie) of Jackson, brother Roy Blanton (Anne) of Ackerman, sisters Lavina O’Bannon (Morris) of Ackerman, Norma Shaw of Gore Springs, Lilly Timothy (Leon), 17 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren.

Mr. Stephen Marquette Buell Friday, June 15, 2012 Graveside services for Mr. Stephen Marquette Buell, 72, were held at 10 a.m., Monday, June 18, 2012 at South Union Cemetery near Ackerman. Rev. George Buell and Rev. Bryan Carrubba officiated.
A resident of Starkville, Mr. Buell was a street cleaner. He died Friday, June 15, 2012 at Starkville Manor Nursing Home in Starkville.
Survivors include brothers Rev. George Buell (Patricia) and Joseph Rawdon Buell, III (Karen) and nieces, nephews and great nephews.

Janie Youngblood Palmertree
Funeral services for Janie Youngblood Palmertree of French Camp were at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 14, at Huntsville Church of Christ near French Camp, with burial following in the Covenant Baptist Church Cemetery near French Camp. Rev. Nathan Wright and Rev. Dan Beardain officiated the services.
Visitation was Wednesday, June 13, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m., at Huntsville Church of Christ.
Mrs. Palmertree died of cancer at her residence on Tuesday, June 12. She was 71 years old.
Mrs. Palmertree was the daughter of the late James Dewitt and Lula Bell Lott Gillon and the widow of the late Maxie Palmertree. She was an upholsterer and a retired employee of McGregor Manufacturing Company. She was a member of Huntsville Church of Christ. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one sister.
Survivors include one daughter, Julie Holmes and her fiance, Randy Keenum, of Poplar Creek; one son, Jerome Youngblood and his wife, Janet, of Stewart; one sister, Margaret Gillon of French Camp; two brothers, Jimmy Gillon of Amory and Raymond Gillon and his wife, Polly, of Stewart; four grandchildren, Chris Youngblood, Christi Rosamond, Trent Costilow, and Hope Cummings; and seven great- grandchildren, Madison, Haily, Hunter Reid, Gentry, Sadie Rae, James Dalton, and David Westley.
Pallbearers were Claude King, Michael Tompkins, Preston Tompkins, Benny Steed, Marvis Braswell, and Wade Henson. Honorary pallbearers will be David Costilow and Drew Tompkins.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Breast Cancer Society.
