Native Plant Propagation June 21st 12-1 pm at Choctaw County Extension Office in the Courthouse Annex. Dr. Wayne Porter will discuss who to grow your own native plants for your landscape. This workshop, presented via interactive video, is free and open to the public.

June is Dairy Month June 25 Youth ages 8-13 have the opportunity to attend a June is Dairy Month workshop June 25 at 2 pm at the Choctaw County Extension Office. VBS at Chester Baptist June 25-29 You’re clear for takeoff at Amazing Wonders Aviation! Come join us as we fly to some of the world’s greatest natural wonders and encounter God’s awesome power! As we fly around the world, kids will takeoff from Worship at The Worship Rally Hangar and make their first stop at the stunning Victoria Falls for Bible study. While flying around the world kids will also visit: Snacks at the Paricutin Volcano, Missions under the Northern Lights, Music at the Matterhorn, Recreation at the Grand Canyon, and Crafts at the Great Barrier Reef.

Grilling Workshop June 26 A Grilling Workshop for youth ages 9-16 will be held Tuesday, June 26 at 6 pm at the Choctaw County Extension Office. Youth will learn about food preparation, food safety, grilling and nutrition. Seating is limited so you must call 285-6337 to pre-register.

Triad to meet June 26 The Triad Council will meet Tuesday, June 26 at noon at the Weir Chapel Missionary Baptist Church Fellowship Hall on Martin Luther King Blvd. in Weir. Members are asked to bring a covered dish to enjoy fellowship with each other.

Triad is the agreement of law enforcement agencies in the county and older retired persons in the community working together to reduce the criminal victimization of the elderly and the disabled persons in the county. Triad works to reduce crime for everyone.

Summer Reading at Weir Library June 26 Children pre-school to 6th grade are encouraged to attend the Summer Reading Program at the Weir Library from 2 p.m.-3 p.m. on June 26. The program is part of “Turning the Tide on Poverty” in cooperation with the Mississippi Library Commission, the Tombigbee Regional Library System, and Weir Library.

Reform VFD Fundraiser June 30 Reform Volunteer Fire Department invites everyone to their fundraiser on June 30 at 10 a.m.-until. The VFD will be selling hamburger and hot dog plates that include chips and a drink. Pre-order your “Supporter of Reform Fire Department” t-shirt for $15. Join us at Reform VFD to help raise funds for new equipment. Reform VFD is located at 142 Plainermill Road, just off of Hwy. 15 North in the Reform Community.

Cooper Family Reunion July 7 The Riley L. Bryon Cooper Family Reunion will be held again this year at Dorroh Lake off Hwy. 9 north of Bellefontaine on Saturday, July 7 from 9 am until. Family and friends are invited to attend. Bring a main dish or dessert. The reunion area is air conditioned and the pool will be open. Ignite Music Workshop July 28 Ackerman Church of God will be hosting a Music Workshop, “Ignite” on Saturday, July 28 9AM-1PM. This workshop will “spark your passion and ignite your church”. This is open to all participants of the church Music & Media Departments. Various topics and sessions will be held including: Vocal techniques, maximizing the volume of your choir and praise teams, praise bands and musicians, worship from a Pastor’s perspective, the worship-leading choir, sound and media in the small to medium churches. The cost is $10/person if you pre- register before Friday, June 29, or you may pay $15/person at the door the day of the conference. A lunch is provided in the cost. Full Circle Knitting/Crocheting Group Location: Choctaw County Extension Office Full Circle Knitting/Crocheting group meets every Tuesday from 9 a.m.- Noon. Revival July 8-11 Bluff Springs Baptist Church in Choctaw County and Pastor Kevin Black invite the public to worship with them in revival July 8-11. The visiting speaker will be the Rev. Jim Rhodes, pastor of Clear Springs Baptist Church.

The Sunday service begins at 6 p.m. and Monday-Wednesday services begin at 7 p.m.

Dan-Azzilee McDonald Family July 1, 2012 at Noon – The Dan-Azzilee McDonald Family will hold a reunion on July 1, 2012 at the Cleveland Community Center, old Cleveland School, on Highway 16 in Kemper County.
