The Dream Riders Biking for Children Chapter B of Louisville will be hosting the McKenna Hawkins Benefit Ride on June 23, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. in French Camp.

McKenna Hawkins is three years old and has been diagnosed with leukemia. She is currently receiving treatments at Blair E. Batson Children’s Hospital in Jackson.

Hawkins’ grandparents are the Reverend Roy and Patsy Hawkins of French Camp and her parents are Jody and Julie Hawkins of Petal.

The Dream Riders are a charitable non-profit organization made up of motorcycle enthusiasts. They offer help to sick, orphaned, or abusedchildren ages 18 and under. The Dream Riders Chapter B President Donnie Boswell saw a flyer about Hawkins while driving through French Camp and wanted to help.

For the McKenna Hawkins Benefit Ride, the Dream Riders will begin the 65 mile drive at Leonard’s 3-way Grocery in French Camp and ride to Ratliff Ferry Trading Post and Campground just off the Natchez Trace in Canton, MS. Once the riders reach Canton, there will be music and a silent auction.

There is a $10 entry fee per bike and food and drinks will be available for purchase on site. If you would like more information about this event call Donnie Boswell at 6628035097. Any and all donations are appreciated.
