Jason Miller to play at JuneFest

Rockin’ country will be heard throughout Ackerman on June 9 during JuneFest’s free concert by Jason Miller.

He will take the stage in downtown Ackerman at 8 p.m. Everyone is encouraged to come early, bring your chairs and kick back for a rockin’ country concert.

In the small rural town of Sturgis Mississippi, outside of Ackerman, is where Jason Miller was born and raised. His parents are Buddy and Pam Miller. At the age of 3, Miller felt the spotlight shining on him as he starting his career singing in church, while his grandma played piano. As Miller reached his early teens, he found much love for the outdoors and sports but his passion for music was much greater.

By the time Miller reached high school, he knew his calling was to sing and perform on stage. During Miller’s freshman year in college, he found himself playing in live bands at local honky tonks around Mississippi and Alabama…

While earning his degree at Mississippi State, Miller met Charlie Grantham, Brandon Hyde and Micheal Bole who would all later start a band known as Kyote Wylde. The guys found themselves playing around the state of Mississippi, forming a fan base that would long live on after the household name was gone. As the fan base got bigger, the talent got stronger, and the guys dreamed of some day making it to Music City, Nashville, Tenn.

Kyote Wylde continued playing and found that fans were not only standing in line and packing the clubs to see them but also driving hundreds of miles around to do so. In 2006, their hard work paid off when the guys were introduced to a young producer out of Nashville named Michael Knox, now known for producing the hottest act in Country Music, Jason Aldean. Knox would lead these Mississippi boys to their first record deal with the Nashville based label Broken Bow Records. The band we all know as Crossin Dixon was born and would soon release their first single “Guitar Slinger” that would make it to the country billboard charts… 10 years worth of hard work brought this Mississippi native to the peak of his career.

In March of 2012 Nashville Recording Artist Jason Miller announced his decision to go solo. As Jason Miller launches his new project old and new fans will get to know and love him and his music.
