Kids’ World to feature Dunking Booth

Kids’ World for the 5th Annual JuneFest will be even more exciting this year with a Dunking Booth and the favorite inflatable water slides! Prepare now to stop by Kids’ World during JuneFest on Saturday, June 9.

The Dunking Booth will be sponsored by the Ackerman Athletic Booster Club with teachers and coaches in the lineup to be dunked from 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.

Farmers’ Market to kickoff at JuneFest Choctaw County’s Farmers’ Market will kickoff during the 5th Annual JuneFest in downtown Ackerman. Make sure to stop by the market for your fresh vegetables on Saturday, June 9th. They will be located at the Main Street Walking Track at the corner of Main and Commerce Streets. All Farmers’ Market vendors must be registered to participate.

After the kickoff the Farmers’ Market will be held on Fridays from 3 p.m.-7 p.m. on June 22, July 13, July 17, August 10 and August 24.

20th Century Club sponsors Bingo, Pet Show The Ackerman 20th Century is gearing up for two fan favorites for JuneFest-Bingo and the Pet Show. Both events draw many people to JuneFest to take part in the fun and excitement of Bingo and the cute and unusual at the Pet Show.

Bingo begins at 6 p.m., Friday, June 3 with the Pet Show registration at 9 a.m., Saturday, June 4 and show starts at 9:30 a.m. B-I-N-G-O!

BINGO! Will be heard throughout Pap’s Place on Saturday night, June 9.

The Ackerman 20th Century Club is once again sponsoring the annual Bingo games during Choctaw County’s JuneFest. Bingo is one of the fan favorites of the all of the JuneFest activities and is always packed full with people waiting for a spot to join the fun. Bingo begins at 5 p.m., June 9. The 20th Century Club sponsors Bingo each year with the help of the Salley’s allowing it to be held at Pap’s as usual.

If you have played Bingo during JuneFest, you’ll know there are really great prizes and plenty of them. 20th Century members work hard collecting prizes from local businesses to keep Bingo going most of the night. Local businesses usually give prizes generously to make Bingo that much more fun.

Proceeds of Bingo go directly to the 20th Century Club for use all year long for different projects. Club members look forward to seeing you at 5 p.m. for Bingo!

Wanted: Pets and Exhibitors for June Fest Pet Show Sponsored by the 20th Century Club, the Pet Show is a very popular event that is held each year in conjunction with June Fest. This year the Pet Show will be held at the corner of Commerce Street and Quinn Street in downtown Ackerman. Registration starts at 9 a.m.; the actual show begins at 9:30 a.m.

Pets may be entered in the following categories: Best Dressed Pet, Largest Dog, Smallest Dog, Longest Hair Dog, Shortest Hair Dog, Smallest Puppy, Cutest Puppy, Largest Cat, Smallest Cat, Longest Hair Cat, Largest Miscellaneous Pet, Smallest Miscellaneous Pet, Longest Tail, Shortest Tail, Longest Ears, Shortest Ears, Most Unusual Pet, and Look Alike. Depending on the pet, one may want to enter the cutest category or longest tail category. There is no limit to the number of categories one enters. Each category has a $2 entry fee with all proceeds benefiting the Choctaw County Public Library.

People from near and far are already preparing for this year’s Pet Show. From cats to roosters, there is always a wide variety of pets to be exhibited. This year will be no different. Please come and support this year’s Pet Show on June 9 in downtown Ackerman.
