As a student of Mrs. Jean Cooper, Caden Miles, age 10, participated in her first piano recital at the Choctaw County Library in Ackerman, MS.
She performed “Dream Waltz” by Garrow and “Stand up, Stand up for Jesus” by Webb.
Earlier in the day she made her debut at the Salem United Methodist Church Memorial service in Chester, MS. She was introduced by Connie Black, director of the service, as the daughter of Warren and Dana (McGee) Miles, granddaughter of the late Jack and Juanice (Ray) Miles, great granddaughter of the late Sam E. and Vera (Prewitt) Ray, all of Choctaw County. Caden is also the granddaughter of Danny and Arlin (Hood) McGee, the great granddaughter of James McGee and the late Ruth (Springer) McGee and the late James Hood and Shelby (Palmer) Hood, all of Webster County.
Caden wore a vintage orange dotted-swiss shift dress made by her grandmother, Arlin. What makes the dress so special is that Arlin had made the dress and had worn the dress when she played the piano at Clarkson Baptist Church when she was 13 years old!
