Fifteen hundred students from countries around the world were selected as ISEF Finalists to earn the right to compete in the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair in Pittsburgh, Penn. on May 14-May 18. Among the 14 students from Mississippi that competed were Sarah Bowles and Lindsey Bruce from Ackerman High School.
This is Sarah’s third year to compete internationally and Lindsey’s first.
“We are very fortunate to have students win at the regional and state level, however it is exceptional to have students compete at the international level”, says Christina McDaniel, science fair coordinator for Choctaw County School District.
“I am very proud of the legacy we are building at Ackerman High School. The science fair is in its fourth year at Ackerman, and every year we have had students who qualify to compete at the international level. Sarah graduates this year, however she has set precedence for excellence for the science fair students who will come after her.”
