Medical Foundation meeting held

The Choctaw County Medical Foundation held their annual meeting, May 3, with approximately 40 people present. Harvey Black, Foundation board president, led the meeting with Lauren Williams, hospital administrator, Joe McNulty, Pioneer Health Systems CEO, and District 3 Supervisor Chris McIntire speaking during the meeting. Williams gave an update on services offered at the Pioneer Community Hospital of Choctaw along with things to come while McNulty spoke about services to be offered soon and how much he looks forward to the new hospital and medical office building. McIntire gave a brief history of the medical foundation and the Board of Supervisor’s commitment to providing health care to Choctaw County citizens. Traci Lang also spoke at the meeting sharing her story of how the Choctaw County Hosptial and staff saved her life. The Foundation board members also presented a financial statement and gave an update on what the Foundation has been doing. Black announced that Ted Taylor, board vice president, has resigned. At the end of the meeting, the foundation voted and approved Rick Jenkins to serve on the foundation board and reappointed Bobby Prewitt, Ron Bennett and Bonnie Thomas to another term.
