Mr. Joseph E. “Joe” Cook April 12, 2012 Funeral services for Mr. Joseph E. “Joe” Cook, were held at Wise Funeral Home in Eupora on Saturday, April 14, 2012 at 2 p.m. Bro. Jerry Grammer officiated. Burial at La Grange Methodist Church Cemetery. A native of Choctaw County, Mr. Cook was a retired machinist. Mr. Cook died on Thursday, April 12, 2012 at his residence in Choctaw County. Survivors include wife, Elois Cook of Mathiston; sons, Joseph Cook of Mathiston, David Cook of Tupelo; daughter, Lisa Morelan of Eupora; brothers, Thomas Cook of Mathiston, Harvey Cook of Sturgis; sisters, Sylvia Roy of Albuquerque, NM, Beverly Ann Cook of Mathiston; 7 grandchildren Pallbearers were the members of the Bywy Fire Department. Wise Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Jimmy F. Oswalt April 9, 2012 Funeral services for Mr. Jimmy F. Oswalt, 66, were held Coleman Funeral Home in Ackerman on Thursday, April 12, 2012 at 11 a.m. Rev. Bruce Latimer officiated. Burial at Wake Forest Cemetery near Sturgis. A native of Oktibbeha County, Mr. Oswalt was a retired Oktibbeha County employee. Mr. Oswalt was a member of Wake Forest Baptist Church. Mr. Oswalt died on Monday, April 9, 2012 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. Survivors include wife, Ann Scott Oswalt of Sturgis; brother, James (Tip) Oswalt of Columbus; sisters, Bonnie Sue Libby of Porter, TX, Jenny Steed of Kosciusko, Barbara Stephens of Starkville, Maedell Templeton of Sturgis. Family suggests memorials to charity of choice. Coleman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Lorine Mary Sheppeard

Lorine Mary Sheppeard, 58, of Mathiston, MS passed away on Friday, April 6, 2012 in Mathiston, MS. Sheppeard was born July 3, 1953 in Stewart, MS to Mrs. Addie Sheppeard and the late Mr. Luther Sheppeard. She is also a member of Mathiston Church of God. Ms. Sheppeard is survived by one son, Larry Dewayne Sheppeard of Columbus, MS; three daughters, Charlotte Pritchard of Jonesboura, AR, Bobby Joe Sheppeard of Eupora, MS, and Mary Lorine Jones of Ackerman, MS. Ms. Sheppeard is also survived by her mother, Addie Sheppeard; a brother, Tommy Lee Sheppeard of Shepherd, TX; a sister, Virginia Lee Sheppeard of Mathiston, MS; 9 grandchildren, Lauren Pritchard, Lindsey Pritchard, Courtney Pritchard, Emily Pritchard, Samantha Sheppeard, Katalin Jones, Eric Jones, Jason Jones, and Kelly Coleman; 4 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Services for Ms. Sheppeard was held Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at Wise Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 p.m. with Bishop Michael K. Mann officiating. Burial followed in Reed’s Chapel Cemetery. Visitation was held Tuesday, April 10 at Wise Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Pallbearers included Billy Williamson, Frankie Williamson, Charlie Williamson, Brody Hines, August Wartenburg, and Steve Fulgham. Ms. Sheppeard is preceded in death by her father and sister, Ruby Francis Avent. Wise Funeral Home of Eupora, MS was in charge of arrangements. PAID OBITUARY
