Lady Lions clinches win in high scoring game

The Weir Lady Lions softball team found themselves in one of the most high-scoring games of the season when they traveled to face West Lowndes on Apr. 2. In what was just supposed to be a normal regular season game, both teams put up more runs in this game than any game previously this season. The Lady Lions would go on to defeat the Lady Panthers by an incredible score of 30-21. Up next for the Lady Lions was another division contest against West Oktibbeha on Oct. 5. Due to weather, the game was cancelled and the Lady Lions played a make-up game against Nanih Waiya. In the make-up game, the lady Lions could not handle the Lady Warriors, and were defeated 20-0. The Lady Lions are currently 1-8 overall and 1-2 in division play. The team will be on the road all next week starting on Apr. 10 with a trip to Nanih Waiya. They will follow that up with a trip to Starkville to face the Lady Yellowjackets on Apr. 12.
