The Choctaw County Board of Supervisors held a short meeting March 5 getting right to business.
The main discussion concerned adding a foundation and rough plumbing to the physical therapy area of the new medical office building under construction right now.
Pioneer Health Systems previously asked the board to finish out the area as agreed in their lease.
Maxie Patterson with Pryor and Morrow Engineering said, in this meeting, the changes will cost $24,623 as quoted from the contractor. This includes rough end of plumbing and foundation for that area in the MOB.
The board approved the changes and to use part of the $100,000 contingency built into the construction contract to pay for the changes.
The board also discussed the financial agreement previously presented by Pioneer Health Services asking them to sign a contract paying for financial services from Oct. 1 to March 1. After Steve Fontaine, with PHS, arrived at the meeting, District 3 Supervisor Chris McIntire told him that the county cannot backdate payments and for him to get in touch with Steve Wright, board attorney.
The Board of Supervisors also approved:
-Inter-fund transfer of $32,915 from Fund 14 to Fund 126 to pay for the ambulance service.
-To sell a District 4 bush hog in the Thomas Auction in Kosciusko.
-To allow the Sheriff’s Department to move to permanent government tags for $10 each as needed.
