The Lady Indians began their 2012 season travelling to Kosciusko for a Jamboree on February 20, 2012. The Lady Indians played Nanih Waiya and Philadelphia.   Pitching for the Indians were Emily Robison, Makenzie Toombs, Haley Lucas and Lindsay Bruce.  Each pitcher was allowed 2 innings of pitching time in the jamboree.  Multiple hits came from Karina Brown, Vanessa Miller (also had 3 RBI’s) and Sarah Bowles (also had 2 RBI’s).  Allison Cooper hit a double that drove in 2 runs. Nanih Waiya had 7 and    Ackerman had 6 in first 4 inning scrimmage. Philadelphia had 7 and Ackerman had 3 in second 4 inning scrimmage.
On February 24 and 25, the Lady Indians travelled back to Kosciusko, MS for the Kosciusko Classic.  They faced Kosciusko on Friday night, but came up short for the win. Kosciusko had 6, while Ackerman had 4.
Emily Robison was on the mound for the Indians.  Ackerman could not get their bats going until the 7th inning, but it was not enough for the win. Sarah Bowles had 3 hits and 1 RBI in the game and Courtney Blaine had 2 hits and 1 RBI.
On the 25th, the Indians played St. Aloysius.  Makenzie Toombs was on the mound for the Indians.  Multiple hits came from Vanessa Miller, Makenzie Toombs, and Bridgette Robinson. St. Aloysius won 14-1.
February 27, 2012, the Lady Indians hosted Houston.  In the Junior Varsity game, the JV Indians struggled at the plate, scoring only 1 run.  Haley Lucas and Lindsay Bruce were the pitchers in the game.  Indians lost 5 to 1.
In the Varsity game, it was more of the same.as the Indians could not get their bats going.  Emily Robison and Makenzie Toombs were pitchers in the game.  Houston had 12, while Ackerman had 2.
March 5, 2012, Ackerman travelled to West Lowndes.  JV won 19 to 0 in 2 1/2 innings. Varsity won 24 to 0.  Makenzie Toombs had 2 infield home runs in the game.  Courtney Blaine also had an infield homerun in the game.
March 6, 2012 played host to West Lowndes.  JV won big as they defeated West Lowndes 23 to 0.  Kierra Fair had 3 hits, Sarah Moss – 2 hits, Haley Lucas and Lindsay Bruce pitched.  In the Varsity game, it was another big win for the Indians defeating West Lowndes 23 to 0 in 2 1/2 innings. Multiple hits were made by Dayna Presley, Allison Cooper, and Makenzie Toombs, Brigette Robinson had an infield homerun in the game.
March 8, 2012, the Indians travelled to Starkville in hopes that the rain would hold off long enough to play ball.  The Junior Varsity played a 2 inning game with Ackerman winning 4 to 0.  In the Varsity game, the bats came to life.  The Lady Indians defeated the Starkville Yellowjackets in 3 innings 20 to 0. Emily Robison was on the mound for the Indians.  Everyone in the lineup put the bat on the ball and made things happen.  Karina Brown, Dayna Presley and Haley Lucas all had multiple hits in the game. Sarah Moss came in to pinch hit in the 3rd hitting a triple into leftfield and scoring 2 runs.
The Lady Indians will resume play after spring break as they will travel to East Webster for the 1st district game of the season.  JV will play at 5, Varsity at 6.  Come out and support in the Indians as this is a big game for the Lady Indians.  Hope to see you there.
